Step 1

Place the strategy in MetaTrader 5

No source-code editing or compilation is required for the standard Quantora installation.

  1. Open MetaTrader 5.
  2. Select File.
  3. Select Open Data Folder.
  4. Open MQL5.
  5. Open Experts.
  6. Copy the .ex5 file into Experts.
  7. Return to MetaTrader 5.
  8. Refresh Expert Advisors in the Navigator.

Download becomes available with an active product and license.

If the strategy does not appear

  1. Refresh Expert Advisors.
  2. Restart MetaTrader 5.
  3. Confirm that the .ex5 file is inside MQL5/Experts.
Step 2

Open the market and timeframe your strategy uses

Every strategy charts a specific market and, when provided, a timeframe. Open exactly what your strategy specifies — nothing is assumed.

  1. Open the symbol your strategy indicates (see the strategy sheet).
  2. Select the required timeframe when one is specified for the strategy.
  3. If the sheet lists no timeframe, follow the strategy’s own configuration notes.

Step 3

Attach it to a chart and start in demo

Test everything in a clearly identified demo account before anything else.

  1. Drag the Expert Advisor from Navigator to the chart.
  2. Load the recommended .set file when provided.
  3. Enable Algo Trading in MetaTrader 5.
  4. Confirm that the EA is running.
  5. Test it first in a clearly identified demo account.
